March 26 Can of Hope Counting |

Out of the 454 cans counted, we manage to collect less than 46,000dhs of which 45,159 in cash,500dhs in check and some foreign currency coins.The balance of 46 cans will be counted on Wednesday at the ISLAMIC AFFAIRS office.The final amount will be updated to you by email as soon as the counting is over.
The money were given to DUBAI AUTISM CENTER for safekeeping with the supervision of the ISLAMIC AFFAIRS and they will be the one to issue the check to the hospital were Enzo will be operated. Dhs 5,000 were donated to DUBAI AUTISM CENTER.The Dubai Autism Center will give a FREE SPEECH THERAPHY for ENZO.You will be updated in which hospital ENZO will be operated.
It was indeed a very successful event attended by around 130 people.Everybody were served with TAPSILOG and PANDESAL.Several FILCOM LEADERS were present.Representative from ISLAMIC AFFAIRS,DUBAI AUTISM CENTER were at the event.
The real spirit of BAYANIHAN was seen on that day.Everybody counted each coins with smile and laughter.The counting per can was displayed in a big monitor.The coins were sealed by tape in a box and signed by the representative from ISLAMIC AFFAIRS everywhere.All the empty cans were also collected by the ISLAMIC AFFAIRS.
The program started with a short prayer fallowed by the opening remarks from the representative of ISLAMIC AFFAIRS fallowed by the statement from DUBAI AUTISM CENTER representative.
The day is complete with jokes,laughter and smile but when a teenage girl stood up at the stage and asked for help as she had the same problem of ENZO,everybody got teary eyed,even some were crying.The sad part of her condition is ,she lost her hearing at the the age of 13,started using hearing aid at the age of seven.
We would like to thank everyone who support and trust FORAC.Its so nice to see the FILIPINO ORGANIZATIONS and OTHER INDIVIDUALS hand in hand,showing THE REAL ESSENCE OF BAYANIHAN,carrying with them THEIR BIG HEART not minding who is GREAT and who is not,moving in ONE GOAL.

Representative from CANADIAN HOSPITAL will be there to show the QUOTATION given by the hospital for the COCHLEAR IMPLANT surgery and rehabilitation.RED CRESCENT REPRESENTATIVE also will be there.
Any excess in donation will be again donated to a FILIPINO GIRL 13 YEARS OLD also with the same problem.Both will be available on that day to personally received the help coming from all of you.
I am urging all of you to please MAXIMISE THE DONATION DRIVE to the fullest as 2 children's lives will be brighter after these event.
We are requesting two (2) members from each organization to be a member of the COUNTING TEAM. Each organization will open and count 20 CANS.

This years concept of HAWAK KAMAY, FORAC CAN OF HOPE...A DIRHAM FOR ENZO was launched yesterday Feb 26.The beneficiary of this event is ENZO,a two year old DEAF Filipino boy.He need a COCHLEAR IMPLANT to be able to hear again.The cost of the surgery is Dhs 216,000. FORAC came with the idea of just asking for a spare coin, because of the present economic crisis that putting the weight to most of the Filipino families in Dubai.We will distibute 500 CANS OF HOPE to friends,relatives and individuals who wish to help ENZO.The CANS are not intended for public display.It will be privately circulated. The COUNTING DATE will be March 26,2010.The place will be announced later.Several Filipino Communities and Filipino Schools confirmed their support for this project.Hopefully because of the overwhelming response from the people ENZO will be operated after the event. The launching were able to distribute 305 CANS.FORAC CAN OF HOPE...A DIRHAM FOR ENZO campaign formally starts Feb 26 and ends March 26 2010.The launching will be the IGNITION POINT of this project.
